SEGUSINO, a corner to discover… ONE MINUTE AT A TIME

Al Fighèr di Coppe Federica

Farm

Al Figher Farm brings a new type of crop to Segusino: the American blueberry, alongside the production of wildflower, acacia, and chestnut honey.

Across 1,000 m² of land, 350 blueberry plants are cultivated, divided into early, mid-season, and late varieties, while the honey is produced by 25 hives of bees of a hybrid breed between Ligurian and Carniolan.

The farm is owned by Federica who, taking advantage of the opportunity to have her father by her side — a long-time experienced farmer and beekeeper — decided in March 2021 to found her own business. Surrounded by vineyards, Al Fighèr Farm was born with the idea of offering natural, zero-kilometre products.

Environmental awareness is at the heart of the project, which features plastic-free packaging and aims to raise awareness about the importance of bees for our planet.

“I always wanted to create my own working reality, one that would give me satisfaction and fulfilment, and in a dark period like the year 2020, I found my courage and threw myself into this adventure.”

The name “Al Fighèr” — meaning fig tree in dialect — comes from the locality where many fig trees and a secondary stream, which bears the same name, were once found.
